Because of the small patterned roses in the paper I used on the wings, the effect is like broken china. I like that even more than my usual patchwork concept, (which represents weaving a new life with the best of what got you here. Keeping the good and leaving the rest. Sewing it together to create something new.)
But china is more delicate than fabric. It can have sharp edges, unless you stick them in grout and only the pretty tops stick out. China reminds me of refinement, and is especially significant for the wings. What helps her fly, to be free, are the highest parts of her life. Her most sacred and special qualities. You will get your wings when you start coming from those sacred places in your daily interactions. Then you will fly.
Faith means a belief that it will all work out, because they will. Maybe not exactly how you want. The worst thing you have gone through will be a comfort to another who has to go through it too. And being a comfort to anyone is the highest thing you and I can do. It can be a lonely world out there. Whatever has happened to you, use your ragtag wings as a safe space to comfort someone else.
